The shopping centre was ultra modern when the ribbon was cut in 1959 and the first ‘mall’ style shopping to be built in Auckland. 

Now ready for a refresh, the whole of the town centre will be built in stages so that services can continue for the community and Northcote’s vibrancy is maintained during construction.
